EC Made A Mistake, Looked Like An Ass Options

I apologize to Kav for I was 100% wrong, I misread the release date of IG Maker and with whats happend in the past with Kav and I and the 3 E-Mail I got I falsely accused Kav of stealing. I however was wrong and made myself look like an ass for which I apologize. Not my finest hour at all.

Hello Everyone,

It seems once again Kav, former admin at rpgmakervx.com and owner of igmakers.com is up to his usual shit again. To fill those who dont know in, Kav liked to steal my translations and claim them as his own. He stole my translation patches and would claim someone on his team did it. His "patches" came out a few days after mine did, never before. But that's old history and I just chalked it up to Kav and his inferiority complex. Well now it seems he's gone and done it again. I like to thank the couple of people who brought this to my attention, shows there are other people out there who feel proper credit should be given.

Kav has once again taken something I did, this time being the IGM 64bit fix and claimed it as his own.

Now your probably wondering how I know this. Without any distinctive markers its would be nearly impossible to tell. However, you cant hide when the modifications were made to the exe.

Take a look at that screenshot and look at the modified date. Mine is the one of the left and Kav's supposed one is on the right. Funny, it says they were both modified on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, 11:26:06 AM. You know that chances of that happening? Its astronomical. For both of us to have modified the exe at the same day at the same exact time even down to the second is crazy!

However, don't just take my word for it, check it out for yourself. I've backed up Kav's supposed fix just in case he tries and hides it or removes it.

I'm not sure which is sadder, the fact that EC has outright lied, or how so many people here hold some grudge against me despite me never having met them. I posted my responses proving how I did not, in fact, copy EC. I posted exactly how I made an IG Maker fix like he did. Four hours ago he said he would return in about 2 hours to apologize if I proved him wrong, which I did. He has not apologized there nor here, so I had to resort to making this reply.

You can check through igmakers.com and see that there is only ONE THING there that is EC's work, and he's credited for it. Nothing else on the site was made by EC and is not taken from RPG Crisis, so I don't get what the big problem is.

Anyway, for anyone to lazy to check the link EC provided in the OP, here's a quick run-down to prove, without any shadow of a doubt, why I'm innocent.

Anyone can do this. You download Microsoft's Visual Studio 2008. Install it. Open IG MAKER.exe. Use CorFlags.exe IGMAKER.exe /32BIT+ /Force (I had to temporarily rename IG MAKER.exe to IGMAKER.exe since the space screwed up the command) in the Visual Studio SDK (another component you have to download and install). This sets it so it works for 64bit machines. EC did the same thing I did. As for them having the same last modified date... how stupid are you? The date says June 30. IG Maker wasn't released till JULY. It was either July 2 or 6, depending on how you look at it. It's been on download.com since July 2, though I've known about it since April. Anyway...

I still haven't gotten an apology, and the replies here are incredibly juvenile. I'm just posting to defend myself and clear things up, since I doubt anyone's going to check back at that thread.

That's nice, but that does not also excuse you for stealing his AGM English patch that he released back in March. Disprove that.

I didn't. I showed it to one of the two people I was working with around that time and he used a program called Visual Localize to translate AGM. Apparently he just decided to use EC's already done translation as a base and fixed what he thought were flaws in it. I did give them credit, which you can check if you don't believe me.

Besides, from your posts it seems you're the one being bitter, whether EC is right or wrong on this one YOU DID steal his last work, edited or not, that's stealing, even if it was someone else from your team, it's stealing.

How the hell can you NOT expect him to be suspicious of your work due to that last steal and given the date of file editation on this one? (yea made that word up )

Now EC didn't outright insult you, he seemed quite civil on your forum whereas you're over here trying to diss him and in turn us in our own faces.

Oh boy, this topic has grown like a parasite. To quote myself from the thread on Kav's site.

Kav, I owe you an apology.

I misread the release date on the CNet Downloads page as June instead of July and I never thought to double-check it. That toppled with whats happened in the past and the 3 e-mails I received led me to my very incorrect conclusion. Again Kav, I apologize. A foolish mistake on my part which makes me look like an asshole, which I deserve. We all make mistakes, were only human. I would still like to talk to you via an IM program to apologize face to face or in this case a more real-time setting, I've updated my contact details.

I beleive this topic can be closed, deleted or whatever you feel like doing.

I feel like an asshole for making the mistake on the date and for falsely accusing Kav. Lets end this fighting and move on, I'm not forcing anyone to apologize but it's what I did and will be doing in a more real time setting if Kav chooses to add me.
