Cleavage Crisis, Evony's advertisement tactic Options

Well isn't this just great? Most of the time while browsing this site, our ads are showing some busty blonde woman that's showing her cleavage in the middle of the banner. And along that, it reads "Start your journey now, my Lord." Now, what would the average, perverted nerd think? "Oh, wow! I see big boobies and if I click on it, I'll find more of these to wank to!" Wrong. You are then lead to a site all about some average MMORPG game that's "free."

I'm really surprised at the fact that RPG Crisis being a "censored" forum is still showing this kind of perverted dementia. Personally, not saying I don't like the women's look, but they don't fit the game, it's just that the company behind Evony are just looking for ways to trick people into going to their site by putting sexually-appealing women there.

And you may think, "Oh, it's okay. Just one ad, where's the hurt?"

Think again.






Look at all these embarassing ads. The 3rd features two lesbians with their heads lying by each other, and the 4th looks like a True.com ad. The last one here is the one that's advertised at this site.

These ads are everywhere these days, and I always catch myself staring at them they're annoying. The game must suck to have to use such a tactic.

They're corrupt, delete characters that the 'don't like'. I guess their last resort to losing all their players from their other games is to put boobies up. Sex sells apparently. But on another note, I do consider the ad highly sexist. Some people who play MMO's are female (me included) and such a game which is single sided is very wrong.

I don't think it is offending people. I think we are all having a good laugh about it. I have never seen a video game or online game that focuses so much on sex to sell its' product.

You know what I do when I see these adverts? I laugh myself stupid.
Yes, sex sells. But it takes more than a suggestive picture to rope me in, seeing as if you want to see boobs when you're online there are many, many other and simpler ways.
So really my advice is that if you see this stuff just ignore it, guys and gals. And just be happy that this site is indeed heavily monitored for innapropriate content and that the worst you'll see on it is just suggestiveness.

If you're offended by a little bit of cleavage, which is gods gift to women, then you are apparently holding back hard feelings for your own shortcomings. While the cleavage neither makes me want to play the game or even visit their website, I still think it is a wise strategy because they aren't targetting to any specific crowd, and there are alot of girls I know that would say "oh she is so pretty" and they will actually play the game because it is a game. They are far from the most attractive females in the world, but they know they work with what they got and they don't give a damn if someone has nicer tits than them.

Stop trying to be mature by trying to justify why "sex" is a poor business strategy. Sex sells. Modesty doesn't.
