Someone I know has recently passed, so do I have to make a topic for them after I get offended by a dumb joke that has nothing to do with them? If Elemental Crisis thought I was spamming back at your thread, I wasn't. I was simply asking you just how old are you, because I'd only imagine a 12 year old or someone with IQ deficiency would post something like that, and somehow relate it to a loved one. That's all.

I don't know exactly what the original topic said or what the deal is with this signature bit, but lets try to ask questions before going into flaming. In my honest opinion, if you're going to talk about your grandmother's death, it may not be wise to start the thread off by spamming the dancing emoticon. This action may lead other to think that you are joking, or being insincere. If you grandmother has in fact passed away, I am terribly sorry for your loss, I know how that feels.

It wasn't even until after a few replies that Freddie said anything about his GMa passing.
So, that's not a likely excuse for bringing up a complaint.
If he wanted some sort of condolences or something and was serious about it, the original post would have said something.

Ndrd and Kurysu are 100% correct on the whole lack of any seriousness on the posts. The whole grandma thing just came out of nowhere. I wouldn't be surprised one single bit if this person is just looking for attention. Guess I'll just put up a sign on my door saying "Don't Feed The Trolls" next time.

I've been around a lot of death. Both of my grand fathers, a grand mother, uncles, aunts, and a few close friends. Now i'm going through a rough and very scary time because my dad has terminal cancer. Not looking for sympathy, or trying to hijack here, just saying, i'm very exerienced when it comes to the subject of grief. I've seen it a lot within myself, as well as within those around me.

People deal with things in various ways. Some people get very sensative over things that many may feel are silly, like getting offended over an innocent joke. there is nothing wrong with that, but try to be mindful of how others might view your posts. its not always easy, but if something upsets you, dont just rant about it, explain why it upsets you, so that people can understand. I realize you have now, but if you had mentioned in your origional post in the other thread as to why that particular joke upset you, none of this would have happened.

I also wanted to say that i'm very sorry for your loss. Again, I've had to deal with it myself, so i can understand the fragile state of mind you are in. I wont bore you with cliche platitudes about it getting easier. its a hard thing to deal with, but I hope that you can find an outlet for your grief that will help you deal with it in a way that is constructive, and will help lead to personal growth.

I'll be frank here, Freddie: you didn't say that the thread was about your grandmother's death. All you said was that you hate jokes about the dinosaurs going extinct. That by itself was weird and made people wonder if you were being serious or not. Plus, there's all the smilies and the gratuitous spelling errors and typos that litter your posts. How can you expect people to take you seriously when you don't post seriously?

It's my personal belief that respect isn't earned, it isn't expected, it's a reaction. If you treat us respectfully, we'll treat you respectfully. It's a two-way street. Simply put, your posts themselves are disrespectful. This is why people think you're a little kid, which maybe you are. I don't know, this is the internet. If you aren't a kid, I seriously think you need to clean up your act on the forums if you want to be treated like an adult.
