Good luck.

Good luck.
SE has the tendency to send C&D letters to anyone who tries to re-create anything from Chrono Trigger. This is not intended to be a commercial project like the one you are refering to... i havent seen any C&D for all the rpg maker FF7:TOKYO DIRFT games |

The project that I imagine EC is refering to was not a commercial project. They tried to produce a free fan-made sequal, and got 90% into it before they recieved a C&D. Still, your project sounds good, and I'd help had I the time and talent.

I was actually refering to Crimson Echoes which was C&D'd just over a month ago. The info on the game and the C&D can be found at http://www.destructoid.com/square-enix-shu...es-131702.phtml

Without showing it off, it is hard to receive fan support, or to find testers. Publicity is a big part of both the testing and funding processes.

-Ndrd But this was not created by a commercial game developer they had enough support through the net, it was just plain stupid to go show off something not legally bound at an expo at which most likely the trademark holders would attend. |

I may be wrong, but as far as I know Crimson Echos was not shown at an expo, and it was still shut down by SE. -Ndrd |

Don't even try to do this because then SquareEnix will hunt you down and either sue you or ask you to not make this game. I am not kidding....

As long as the game isn't made for making profit, then there's really no reason he shouldn't have the freedom to do a fan remake. Even though I fear our freedom is on its numbered days... --------------------

This is not what this fan game creator says. And apparently someone hack the rom to do a fan made sequel and it was cancelled by SE too. Just google it. -------------------- |
