All I gotta say is the SNES. Best 16-bit system of ALL time. Beautiful graphics, crisp sound, INCREDIBLE controls, and to this day still many pounds of nostalgia sitting at my game shelf and table. (Even though only most of my carts don't work anymore, the system still does!)

Favorite games in no order include: Super Mario All Stars+Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy IV-VI, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, Mega Man X1-3, Street Fighter II, Breath of Fire II, Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 1-3, Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension, Batman Returns, The Adventures of Batman & Robin, etc.

And also, who couldn't forget the WONDERFUL Killer Instinct?

Seriously, I cannot name any other system with any more games that I truly ENJOYED. None have come to mind.

Truly iconic games that defined fun for my childhood. Though it's almost 20 years old, my love for this true console is still intact. Sure, there were games that weren't that hard to play, and could be boring afterwards, always doing the same thing over, and over again. But still, difficulty or graphics ain't what makes a great game. It's all about fun, that's why they're called "games".

Don't get me wrong. I love the old school systems and everything. I really do.
Hell. I have every single Neo Geo Pocket game and every single Sega Saturn game.
But, these new generation consoles. You REALLY can't mess with.
I love my 360. Connectability with other players is wonderful. Using the 360 as more than a vigeo game console...and as an actual Entertainment System is wonderful. Movies, Music, Streamings of both, video games, chatting, video game news.

How do you beat that???

No. Good games are still played by many people on ALL consoles...
That's not a good basis for a comparison, now is it.

In the senior common room at my school we still have a N64, and loads of people play SSB, which is great.

I remember the days when I had a lesser known console, aptly named the TurboGrafx-16. Despite not being well known to most gamers, it had quite an impressive line-up of games that pretty much, along with the Sega Saturn, pioneered CD-based gaming.

But is it my favorite console of all? The TG16 and Sony's original Playstation are both on my #1 spot.

My favorite system will have to be SNES. It's a great system despite it's age, and has some of the greatest games of all time on it! It was also my first console.

My favourite Gaming console was the SNES, but nowadays I think that my favourite console is the Original XBOX, not the 360 RROD's owner. It's Hard Disk, linux capability and simplicity to add USB functions makes it worth its price ^^'

My favorite had to be the PS1, followed closely by the SNES.

Of course i could say many other systems were my favorites too, so many good games to choose from laugh.gif

My all time favorite must be the DS when before I used to ridicule the use of two screens now 4 years later and I have gladly eatten my words. Wii is a close second followed by N64 and SNES

Its actually very hard to choose my favorite, but my top 5 are the 64,sega genesis (for some reason a lot of people just plain call it the "sega", but then again the other sega consoles didnt really get much attention at all.)
ps2(counts as psx) snes and my 360, but that was stolen with GTA4 and RB2. damn. and those are in no particular order.

High five.

I came into the Turbo late, when I snagged a Japanese Duo off eBay a few years ago, and the system completely blew my mind. This is the system for shoot-em-ups, with dozens of top-notch originals like Spriggan and Lords of Thunder, and many home ports that are actually better than the arcade game they're based on (Gradius, Super Raiden and 1943 Kai come to mind). It has a solid line up for other genres, too, though tragically, 99% of it's beefy RPG line-up stayed in Japan. We did get Ys Book 1+2, which is the greatest RPG ever made, and an awesome port of Might and Magic 3, so I guess that makes up for it.

The Dreamcast and DS are pretty much tied for second place.

I must give some high credit to Milton Monday for mentioning the Dreamcast.

Honestly, that console was so great, because it's games were great, and one flaw in the console later became it's high turning point, which was the lack of copy protection for the console.

I can tell you, I've got about 170+ burned CD-R's, ranging from SNES emulators to a Dreamcast Hacking Tool.

I wish SEGA made consoles instead of batting for all three existant ones...
