Description:
When RPG Maker XP was announced the maker community went crazy, unlike RPG Maker 2003 which was essentially a upgraded version of RPG maker 2000 RPG Maker XP was a completely new engine. It introduced many features that were impossible to do in the older installments. With RPG Maker XP Enterbrain added in the three layer system allowing you to create a map on three different layers, this feature was welcomed and many were excited to try it out. But the biggest feature announced was the addition of a scripting language known as Ruby known as RGSS in RPG Maker XP. With this scripting system the possibilities were endless, you were no longer bound to using only switches and variables. However with RPG Maker XP Enterbrain introduced a new authorization system that would check your serial key online to make sure it was real. This was a huge problem for the maker community and while RPG Advocate (Translator of RPG Maker 2003) said he would translate RPG Maker XP he would be unable to do so unless someone could crack the authorization system. For awhile it didn't look good but then a user going by the name Canter Wood volunteered for the job and cracked the authorization system. However RPG Advocate decided that if there ever was a chance that Enterbrain would release RPG Maker XP officially in English it would be gone if he released his translation. So instead what he did was provide the translation only to those who had legally bought RPG Maker XP. This did not go over well with the maker community and soon enough a user going by the name DynaEmo got a hold of RPG Advocates translation and released it as his own. He purposely broke a few things with the maker as a attempt to make people believe he had actually translated it. His planned failed when it was compared to RPG Advocates and found to be identical. Soon afterward a user going by the name Postality Knights released a fixed version of DynaEmu's broken translation, Postality Knights also stated he was working on an enhanced version of RPG Maker XP that would add a lot of features. Postality Knights Enhanced Edition was soon released, it added things like the fourth message line and the ability to have 999,999 HP instead of 9,999 HP. However because Postality Knights had hacked the .exe the program would often crash causing users to have create a new project. Around this time Enterbrain announced the official RPG Maker XP English translation which shocked the maker community. When Enterbrain finally released the official translation many found it to be a lot more stable and useable then Postality Knights version and a lot of known bugs were fixed in the official version. However unlike every program that costs money cracks and keygens started popping up for RPG Maker XP, but despite that Enterbrain finally saw that there was a huge audience that would gladly pay for an official translation.
