Disclaimer:
This is in no way a full blown hack or anything of the sorts, this is a stand alone .dll file the requires you to already have the RPG Maker VX Trial installed on your computer. All this will do is replace the Japanese text with English text.

I do not own RPG????VX or work for Enterbrian nor do JPG, Leon Blade or any staff member of RPGCrisis. This is purely a fan translation of the great RPG???? series and I fully support the legal version of RPG????VX/RPG Maker VX when released. If Enterbrain wants me to remove this file I will comply immediately.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Files Included In The Zip:
RPGVXJPN.dll
README.txt

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Release Notes:
This is a FAN TRANSLATION and in no way an OFFICIAL TRANSLATION!

This file (RPGVXJPN.dll) will only work for the Japanese version of the RPG Maker VX Trial and will NOT work for the full version of RPG Maker VX once released. Do your part by buying RPG Maker VX either on the 27th of December or when the English version is released.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update Information:
12/20/2007
- Translation mistakes fixed.
- RPGVXJPN.dll 100% Translated.

12/18/2007
- Translation mistakes fixed.

12/17/2007
- Initial file release.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Install Instructions:
1. Extract the "RPGMakerVXTrial(ENG).zip".
2. Go to the directory where you extracted "RPGMakerVXTrial(ENG).zip".
3. Make sure RPG Maker VX is closed and not running.
4. Copy the following file "RPGVXJPN.dll" into "C:\Program Files\Enterbrain\RPGVX-Trial" or the directory where you installed the trial. You will be asked to overwrite the existing file, click "Yes".
5. Congrats your done.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Troubleshooting:
Q: How do I open the zip file?
A: If running XP or Vista you can use the built in compression software, WinZip and WinRar are good alternatives.

Q: Error when trying to open the zip file!
A: The zip might have become corrupt during your download. Delete the old file and clear your cache in your browser and try downloading it again. To learn how to clean your cache use the following link: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html.

Q: The fonts in RPG Maker VX are too small/big, how can I fix this?
A: By default the fonts used are MS Gothic and UMEPlus Gothic with a font size of 10. Because this is a foreign program intended to run on Japanese operating systems running it on non-Japanese operating systems will cause font display problems. A simple fix is to install East Asian Language support, to do this open up"Regional and Language Options" located in the "Control Panel". Select the "Language" tab and select "Install Files For East Asian Language support" and click "Apply". You will need your Windows CD so it can copy the required files off it, once down restart your computer.

After reviewing the translation more in-depth I saw how... for lack of a better word, poor some parts of the original translation done by JPG and Leon Blade was (No offense guys!). I will be going through the translation and translate the untranslated text as well as fix incorrect translations and will release a much better translation in a couple of days.

Updated it. Contains all the files needed unhidden.

https://rpgcrisis.net/forums/http-www-rpgcrisis-net-forums-index-php-showtopic-10-t10.html

You did less than 5% Elements. Just wanted to point that out.

I would recommended against using the so called "New version" thats been posted. The only new thing is their splash screen. I would wait until I finish translating the rest of the .dll file.

Splash Screen In Question

@ JPG and Leon Blade (Responding to your MSN Convo)
I never once claimed more credit then was was due for my work. You guys did a bulk of the work but also forgot a quite a bit as well. In the current .dll file I translated about 25 untranslated strings and thats not including going back and doing and fixing mistranslations or the many sections with "????", "idk" or random numbers. There was even an entire section where all the words were just "????" with a note saying sorry for the poor translation. I stick by what was said, the current translation was a rush job that resulted in poor quality and I refuse to have my name on something that its poor quality.

Heres an example of the "????"

In their "RPGVXJPN.dll thats been "updated".

CODE
STRINGTABLE
LANGUAGE LANG_JAPANESE, 0x1
{
1104,     "69"
1105,     "??????"
1106,     "?????"
1107,     "??????"
1108,     "???????"
1109,     "???????"
1110,     "???????"
1111,     "??"
1112,     "???:%d, ???:%d"
1113,     "?? :"
1114,     "? :"
1115,     "?? 1 :"
1116,     "?? 2 :"
1117,     "??"
1118,     "?"
1119,     "?? 1"
}

The "RPGVXJPN.dll file I'm working on.

CODE
STRINGTABLE
LANGUAGE LANG_JAPANESE, 0x1
{
1104,     "Area creation"
1105,     "Area setup"
1106,     "Area position"
1107,     "Database"
1108,     "Creating a event"
1109,     "Editing a event"
1110,     "Level up"
1111,     "Total"
1112,     "Basic value: %d, Degree increase: %d"
1113,     "Weapons:"
1114,     "Shield:"
1115,     "Weapon 1:"
1116,     "Weapon 2:"
1117,     "Weapons"
1118,     "Shield"
1119,     "Weapon 1"
}

Oh and I did way more then 5%, hell a lot of the translated windows are just the name and ok button, its not that hard to do that.

The current .dll file that you posted is still has 66 untranslated strings as well as all the drop down menus.

Thats why I said
QUOTE
JPG and Leon Blade who did most of the original work and Elemental Crisis who finished up the rest.

Granted I could of worded it better but at 6 AM in the mourning I just wanted to get it up for download. I never intended to claim the translation work as my own and still plan to give you guys the finished .dll file.

I even told you guys I was going to release the .dll as a stand alone file which I did. My download has only the .dll file and a README while yours has the entire program and all related files (excluding the materials).

I noticed in the VX translation that in the Monster Tab of the Database, the Mag Defence and Evasion values are actually the Experence and Money dropped.

Is part of the language in the EXE or is all of it in the DLL? There are a lot of things in drop down menus like the battle position for classes and targets and usability for skills that are in Japanese. Could those be next on the list? I know what most of them are from experimenting but I would like to know them anyway. I'd help if I could but I can't read Japanese nor can I edit DLLs, I can guess things by using them though.

Yeah, it has the one Leon Blade made.

Is that a joke? Because it's not a funny one, seeming it has the default splash. (IMG:https://rpgcrisis.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

You need to look again man, Leon Blade edited the default one. This one pleases everyone, it keeps all the purists happy and it still has the translators names on it.
