CMS Options

I’ve been looking around trying to find a good CMS to use for RPGCrisis and while looking I found out I could test out IPS CMS IP.Nexus. I’ve briefly talked about thier CMS before when it was under a different name so when I found out I could test the latest build I downloaded it and set it up. Now granted this is only a beta but I didn’t really like it, since combining their CMS and Billing program to form IP.Nexus it seems to have shifted from the CMS aspect to more of a billing program. Right off the bat your able to customize everything which I immediately started doing and realized how long it took to load each page, its relies heavily on AJAX which in this case took forever to load. On the plus side it was really easy to add/edit pages as well as add/edit menus and the ACP is clean looking and organized. It doesn’t look cluttered and isin’t overpopulated with links. Now I only spent about 30 minutes total messing around but I just don’t like it or feel it’s what RPGCrisis needs which is a shame because seeing hows its an IPS product IPB would integrate ever so smoothly. I’ll most likely check up on it when its been finalized and see what people have to say about it. I attached some screenshots so you can see what it looks like.

I’ve also been messing around unsuccessfully with a new version of IPBSDK called IPBWI which would be perfect for RPGCrisis. IPBWI is basically a shell of IPB functions allowing you to create your site and incorporate things like the login or topic display and so forth on your site. My only problem is my limited knowledge on PHP, but hopfully I’m able to get a friend to help me with this so I can use it for RPGCrisis.

A friend also recommend I take a look at E107 as a possible solution, I haven’t had time to fully check it out but I will soon.

If you have an idea for RPGCrisis or wanna help out MSG me on MSN.
