    This is my little project, mostly to familiarize myself with IG Maker, as well as decide if I actually wish to buy it. So far, I'm really liking IG Maker.

    Updates~

    June 1, 2011

    My day-job is commanding a bit more of my time at the moment, so my progress has slowed, but it's alright. I needed a little break. However, I've put some more time into the design, mostly making the levels more streamlined. Discovering links, I decided to make the levels made up of several linked canvases, which seems to look better. Anyway, here's the short list of improves:

    * Made a 64X64 icon.
    * Made a basic talking NPC
    * Touched up and organized Tiles
    * Completed elevator room with working 3-step elevator

    That's the most notable changes at the moment. Here's a video as well:

    Background~

    Mega AJ is an idea I had for a game about ten years ago or something, and at the time all I really did for it was do some sprite recolors. I'd prefer to do all original sprites and art, but for something that's a hobby I just don't have time for it. Many Kudos to those who are doing their own art, I know how time-consuming that can be.

    I really wanted to see what IG Maker could do, though, so I decided to use the sprites I had already done so long ago.


    Gameplay Theory~

    The idea of the game is to play mostly like Mega Man X 1-3, but with a twist. The character's combat is a inspired by fighting games like Street Fighter and such, with light RPG elements such as attack power upgrades, as well as discovering new attacks from bosses in traditional Mega Man form.
    Using the different Plugins with IG Maker, I hope to make the game a little more 'sandbox' styled, where you will travel all over, instead of just clearing stages.

    Game Story~

    The main character is actually human, who wishes to fight Mavericks himself, instead of having Reploids their (seemingly) only line of defense. He starts off only working with the Maverick Hunters doing janitorial jobs, then through a series of events comes across an armored suit designed to be work by humans for fighting Mavericks.
    From there, he encounters a new enemy who begins attacking the Maverick Hunters, and begins his fight.

    At any rate, I just decided I would post some of my work here so others can see more of what IG Maker can do. I'd love to help build support for the program, and perhaps if more people got on board, then Enterbrain will support IG Maker more. The community means everything.

          Wow awesome work! I always thought a megaman game would be cool to do, just didnt know if it would be viable on IGM.. care to share any tips?
