Compressing WAV/AIFF Files
We may be stuck with using only AIFF and WAV files which tend to be a lot bigger then their MP3 counterparts due to the fact that their uncompressed audio but it doesn't mean we have to put up with the file size!
In this tutorial I'm going to teach you how to compress WAV and AIFF files so your games doesn't end up being 300MB with 200MB being sound files.
First off your going to need to download Audacity, its a free audio editor which you can also use to convert your MP3 files into WAV or AIFF for use with IGM. However, it seems in the newer versions they've removed this ability so I've uploaded the version I used while writing this tutorial.

1. Download and install Audacity.
2. Open the WAV or AIFF file you want to compress.
3. In Audacity click File then Export, then select the Options button.
4. Under Format select either WAV (Microsoft 4 bit IMA ADPCM) or AIFF (Apple/SGI 8 Bit PCM), once done click OK.
5. Select the location where you want to save, rename the file if you would like. Once done click save.
6. A window will popup allowing you to add the META tag info if you'd like, click OK when done. Audacity will compress the file while it's saving.
7. Navigate to where you saved the file and take a look at the file size.
Using my example the original WAV file was 5.00MB, my compressed file is 864KB! Audacity was able to compress 4.16MB! The only drawback for some is the bit rate loss, the original file's bit rate was 705kbps and the compressed file's is 177kbps. You can mess with the Format setting to a higher format if you want a higher bit rate.
