*Until version 1.1 this tutorial assumes you know how to make a .ico file.
1. First download Resource Hacker from the following site, this is the program were going to be using to change our icon. The download link is towards the bottom. http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/
2. Once it's downloaded extract the zip file.
3. I like to keep everything neat and organized so this next step is optional. Create a folder in the directory where you extracted called Projects, of course if you have your own way of filing things go ahead and do it.
4. Copy your .exe file over to your newly created directory. When I say copy I mean copy, its vital you backup your files when modifying an .exe file.
5. Double click on ResHacker.exe, once its loaded click on File then Open.
6. Navigate to where your .exe file is located, and double-click it.
7. In Resource Hacker there should be 2 panels. the right panel should be empty while the left panel contains the .exe file structure. In the left panel click on Icon Group.
8. Now click on the folder called 1.
9. Inside folder 1 there should be a file labeled 0, click on it.
10. If you get an error message saying "Out of System Resources" ignore it.
11. With 0 selected right-click on it and select Replace Resource.
12. Click on Open file with new icon and navigate to where your .ico file is located. Remember, the .ico file cannot exceed 32x32.
13. Once selected hit Open and then in the lower right-hand corner hit Replace.
14. You've successfully changed your .exe files icon!
15. Now that were done it's time to save, select File and then Save. By default Resource Hacker makes a backup just in case something went wrong when you were editing your .exe file.
