RPG Maker VX was Enterbrain's "killer" followup to RPG Maker XP, and is the only maker to have been released Worldwide without Enterbrain having to combat piracy and illegal translation. VX polished many grounds that XP left messy, such as the improved RGSS2 language, but it seems that VX has taken something away from the formula of RPG Maker, as many see this as more of a DOWNGRADE instead of a much needed rehaul. New features include the return of Facesets and the Auto Dungeon Generator, which were very popular features from RPG Maker 2003, as well as a completly new set of graphics, music and sounds (although some may notice recycled sound effects from RPG Maker 2003) When people first saw the new "chibi" styled RTP, many people were left disappointed as it failed to please and meet the expectations of the truely hardcore RPG Maker community and userbase.
