First its the sims movie, now this
Ea has been making several movie deals it seems http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/02/fox-maki...rector-onboard/ I wonder how long unti they realize Life simulation games don't make for good movie plots!! what's next "Zoo tycoon" the movie?! Looks like a new "Ice age" franchise/clone is beginning, however I liked Iceage, so far (mainly 1 & 3) --------------------

Still reading the article...But, actually...

EA is on a movie-making tear thanks to that deal with UTA; it's got The Sims, Dante's Inferno, Army of Two, Dead Space, and Mass Effect.
Army of Two, Dead Space, and definitely Mass Effect could potentially make some badass movies, to be honest. This last part:

"With more than 100 million unique creatures uploaded to our website, it's clear that people are passionate about the game, and it will be exciting to offer a powerful medium like film in order to expand their experience with Spore."
Sounds like they just want to give more back to the gamers, actually... It will be interesting to see how ALL these play out, though. I do, however, don't think it is the time for a Sims movie(not that there ever were one, but IF there were). That series is way past it's prime, I'm sure. Sims 3 hasn't been getting any buzz at all, really. -------------------- -------------------- RM Tsukuru Kokyo - RPG Maker Fansite, RPG News, RM Directory Site -------------------- Current Projects

I don't want to use you because I'm about to fight Emerald Weapon. Wait, just give me the Underwater & Knights of the Round Materias. :)

That's how I know you're a noob. You're supposed to link Knights of the Round with Mimic. DURRRRRR
And yes. I know you need Underwater/w.e too. xP -------------------- |

Dead Space movie (aside the anime) could be amazing. Especially if Isaac is in it.

Here's the twist: The movie isnt seen in theatres but on your own PC, so you can create the characters and have them act in the movie.
Actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea *e-mails EA* That does sound cool. o_o -------------------- |

Go play 'The Movies' by Lion Studios. Brilliant stuff that does that. Shame on the lack of modding though. I agree, the TR and Silent Hill movies were brillant. Spirits Within was good as a movie, but they should have removed the 'Final fantasy' logo from it, they would have gotten more recognition for it then i think. The Advent Children movie was pretty good, I actually tried to watch it from a more logical point of view, to see if they would summarise the background and the characters so someone who hasn't played the game would understand it, they did all that. And yes, FFVI movie pls :3. I mean come on, the themes and situations from final fantasy VI were shredded and placed into FF7. I saw that "advent children" final fantasy movie (Not having played anything more that kingdom hearts) It was a bit confusing until my friend sorted out who everybody was ,and who were the bad guys. --------------------

At the moment, movie producers are buying out any little tiny cash cow they can get their dirty little hands on and they really couldn't care less if they do a good job of it or not. As we have seen from many movies over the past few years. I would like to say that my enthusiasm for movies has remained stalwart in the face of negative approvals, but thats simply is not the case. As for Spore... grief, I'm not a fan of the game myself, but if they were to do an Ice Age style clone, it's highly probable that it could succeed with good writing. However I probably won't be interested in seeing it all the same. That said... it won't be a hard toss up if I see the movie theater notice board and my options turn out to be Battle Ship, Candy Land and Spore, I know what movie I'll be watching...
... Waynes World at home on DVD. To hell with that nonsence! |
