Welcome to RPG Crisis!
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the new and improved RPGCrisis! Over the past two months, Tidus and myself, with the help of SickSinz (The Sick Boy), have been working hard on creating a new site layout fully integrated with the forum! Most of the credit (Around 98% I would say) for this fantastic work goes out to SickSinz, as he did everything from making the skin layout to coding it. Tidus and I only helped him test it out and draw the basic plans of what we wanted accomplished. As you can see, he did an amazing job and far surpassed our expectations. For this we would like to thank him and let him know how much we appreciate it. We would also like to say thank you to Wimpie for creating this custom forum skin for RPGCrisis ? free of charge! Yes, unlike others who responded to the request asking for an average of $120 (some even wanting around $200), Wimpie contacted me and told me he would do it for free. I was overjoyed at the kindness this man showed, and would also like him to know how much we appreciate it. I hope everyone will be able to experience the new and improved RPGCrisis and enjoy all the hard work that has been put into it! Now, there have been a lot of changes made so below I will be explaining them all starting with the site changes. RPGCrisis Site In the past, RPGCrisis only focused on one thing and that was RPGMaker. However, that is not the case anymore. RPGCrisis now focuses on Japanese animation as well! We will still provide everything for RPGMaker (and other game making engines) like before, but with the addition of a new focus section we will now be introducing the world of anime into RPGCrisis! Why Anime? Anime is something that is becoming more and more popular and widely accepted all over the world, and is something that can be covered with ease. With the addition of Anime to RPGCrisis, we will be offering reviews on Anime seen by our staff (using the Review System), links to anime sites, links to Bit Torrent episodes/links, and quite possibly in the near future an Anime Gallery where anime pictures will be posted as well as art drawn by our members. We are excited with this change and hope everyone else will be, too. New Site Look As you can see, the site has a brand new look. We wanted to have a site that was simple to navigate while at the same time being pleasing to the eyes. We are happy with the results. With the addition of this new look, we have also introduced a new link system never seen before on RPGCrisis. As you can see at the top, there are four links you can click on. There is ?Site?, ?RPGMaker?, ?Anime? and ?Forums?. Excluding the forum link, when you click on one of the other three the menu on the right changes to correspond with the selected link. -How Does This New Link System Work? If you clicked on RPGMaker, for example, the menu would change to correspond with RPGMaker. By default, when you visit RPGCrisis the Site section is what you see. However, that can be changed. By clicking on ?Make this my default page?, located in the corner of every news page, it will make the selected section (Site, RPGMaker or Anime) the default page that loads when you visit RPGCrisis. -New Systems We have added four new systems to RPGCrisis, all to make everything much easier. We've added a Download System for handling all of our downloads, a Review System for handling all of our reviews, a Tutorial System for handling all of our tutorials, and a news system for the site. We?ve decided to keep the Gallery, which is running the Resource Database, though currently it?s the only system that is not 100% integrated with the site (since it has its own login system). --Download System The download system, as said above, will be handling all downloads for RPGCrisis. Any member of RPGCrisis can add a download; you no longer have to look around for a free host to host your game. All you have to do is upload it and fill in the required information. Once it?s approved by staff, it?s put into the database for all to download. In the future, forum topics will be made for downloads that will allow people to ask for help or report problems. --Review System The Review System will be used by the staff to post reviews ranging from Anime to RPGMaker Games to anything we feel needs to be reviewed. --Tutorial System Like the Review System, anyone can add a tutorial/script and once it?s approved by the staff it gets added. In the future, forum topics will be made for downloads that will allow people to ask for help or report problems. --News System The News System isn?t anything that?s different than other news systems like CuteNews, except it was custom made for RPGCrisis. We are proud of it. Staff members can add news and members can comment on them. -No more one man army When we were coming up with the site we wanted to make it so files never needed to be uploaded (unless updating) and the site would basically be ran by the staff. With this new system it means more updates, more resources, more tutorials, more reviews and well just about more everything because I won?t be the only one updating things. Forum Update The forums have been updated to the latest version 2.1.5 and with this every mod had to be re-installed. Not that big of a problem, as it only took about 45 minutes to do so. Below are the current forum changes. -New Skin Once again thanks to Wimpie for making this custom skin. I hope everyone likes it as much as we do. We hope everyone enjoys the new site and forums as much as we do. A lot of effort and time was put into making this site run and make what we wanted a reality. A new era of change is on the way and we need you guys to help usher them in. Also I just found out I forgot to change the RPGCrisis skin so members can use it, sorry about that. Members can now select it, tell us what you think of it. I will also be doing some updates later tonight! |

I'm actually working on some custom buttons. Please give me a little time, though...I've got so much else to do as well that things are stacking up. I'm looking to have them finished by tomorrow.

I knew about most of these plans but it's good to see them finished. EC, I know I probably lost some respect by not helping with this. But when I found out that you may not have needed me, I backed off. I think you all did a great job.

cool new look skin is good banner is simple, but good. and it still has that user friendly easy on the eyes blue look. i love it

The Review and Tutorial Systems are now up and running
I added 1 tutorial so you can see how the Tutorial/Review System works because they both are the same mod just changed around to fit our needs. |
