If you look around you local game store and ask about mario you will find out theres about 15+ titles of or favorite plumber, good right? I dont think so.

Has Nintendo become so reliant on Mario that every sport has to be about Mario? Just to name a few...Mario Golf, Mario bastball, Mario Soccer....etc.

I think Nintendo needs to take a 1 year break from Mario because then instead of people going like "Oh a new mario game..." they will be like "YAY MARIOS BACK!!!"

What do you guys think?

I agree with mario being overused. But also what else do they have. Xbox and ps2 have good FPS and RPGS. Nintendo needs to think of a new scene, one that does not include g-rated games.

Rememebr that Mario is Nintendo's mascot so is obvious he is going to be in most of their games.

hes way overused and they need to bring in some other styles like Axel said.
but yeah they should take a break on mario and then bring out again in like a years time like ec said
they would probably boost the popularity of mario that way

I don't know...I'd rather play a Mario Sports game than play a regular sports game...I like playing a sports game that has familiar characters rather than a sports game that has so-called sports superstars that I haven't even heard of yet.

However, Mario does have a huge fanbase still, and while there is still a market, there will still be Mario games. They are coming out (or already came out with) a Peach game, so that is something refreshing.

Mario is an icon, and it makes perfect sense to use him so much. He's like Mickey Mouse.

I think that it's cool to have a Mario in sports games. You get to shoot turtle shells and fire balls, which is much cooler than a regular sports game in my oppinion. And I think that mascots are supposed to be overused.

How about ya'll leave Mario alone. ;P Mario is the man! That's just like saying Final Fantasy is overrated.

Believe it or not, most Final Fantasy games are overrated. (And all you FF fans out there, thank Nintendo, because if they never betrayed Square, you'd probably never have the same quality games you have today.)

Get used to it, because Mario is the sole savior of the American Video Game market. In the 1980s, America's gaming economy was starting to die, almost instantaeneously. And then, the Nintendo Entertainment System was made, and the things that really sold it, was Rob the Robot, and Super Mario Bros.

Now obviously, this little feat put Shigeru Miyamoto on the map. This would explain why he is now VP of Nintendo, and why there are so many Mario games out. Seriosuly, they're making a Super Smash Brother's Brawl, and this one includes Snake in it. His innovation doesn't really stop there.
