For everyone wondering why the forums have been down the whole day. For some reason unknown to me and a lot of people over at the IPB Forums and Invisionize Forums these forums were not accepting new registrations, I thought it might be a mod I installed so I removed every single mod and restored every single file, but that didint do anything besides remove hours and hours of work. So I was told to try a fresh install so I backed the database up using a tool that was suppose to work great for backing IPB databases, after getting a fresh copy up I went to upload the database and guess what! The piece of shit backup had errors, it would not upload correctly or would say there was duplicate settings and stop, I tried manually but that even didint work and that took a good hour to do. So here I am with yet another fresh install with nothing to show but a whole day wasted on this piece of shit software. If anyone has any suggestions mail them to rickyvh@rpgcrisis.net, for now it looks like i'll have to re-start the forums. I know many of you will be pissed and I dont blame you, I ask that everyone registers again and help me rebuild the forums. I'm really getting fed up with Invision, dont be surprised if we make a switch to VB.

Im sorry for all this hassle, the forums will be opened to the public on January 23rd at 1:00 PM Pacific time.

Well its 2:22 PM Pacific time here, Tidus and I didint meet the deadline on time due to modifications being made.

I wanna say sorry to everyone for what happend, I relize a lot of people may not come back or may be extremely angry with me, I accept that and please let me know how you feel via PM. I ask that everyone comes back and does the tedious taks of re-registering and give RPGCrisis and myself one more chance. I wanna hear what you all have to say so if its bad please PM me.

I am considering hiring someone to make a professional website layout and a forum skin, let me know via PM if you know someone.

Please dont no post that we should switch to PHPBB or VB, I would like to switch to VB but not now and not when I dont have the money to. I dislike PHPBB so please dont post about RPGCrisis switching to it.

im sorry but i have no sympathy for you, this has happened befor and i told you that you should cheak your back ups for errors, but i dont think you have been
so its happened again.
well good luck re building but i think its just happened to many times and people have given you one more chance many times.
ill still be here and try help out but im not sure if everyones coming back because the last one severly damaged the activity.

I'd like to apologize as well. Starting all over is never fun, but I hope you can bear with it and continue posting as you always have. To help prevent a future database loss, I'm going to backup the database weekly along with EC. Things are finally getting put into action, however, so perhaps you can think of this as RPG Crisis' new beginning. Things are only going to get better from here, I assure you. My apologies again.

well i dont realy see how having 2 back ups will help.
because if both your back ups are screwed then you havent realy solved the problem.
like i said befor invest in checking the backups for errors

Spud here. It's a major disappointment that this happened again. From Seth_'s post I have a feeling he won't be the same here ever again, and that's a shame. I honestly don't mind that the forums are reset, but it's going to suck getting it back to where it was, which wasn't exactly much in the first place >_<.>

ok, now, i am sort-of like seth_ with this. I will be always be here, but i just think that a new board every few months is getting rediculous. I was here since late 2004. I was here when Lime was here. I actually joined to help Lime with a Title Page for his RPG Crisis project. Those where good days. REALY good days.

Infact, i think i was the one that introduced seth_ to rpgcrisis (hey, i am bringer of good things). Now, i think what we need to do, in order to increase activity, is to simply offer something that other forums dont have. It's actually realy obvious. If we have something that people want, and other people dont, then they'll come to us.

I'm realy tired now, so ill go to bed, but i think we all need to think and come up with something that others want. I know we have hosting, but it doesn't bring the average Gamer/Anime Fan/RMXP user.

What bring RMXP user are games. I don't really know much about RMXP but I know a lot of Rm2k, but right now that is an old program. I think if I had a computer I could make a 30 minutes game easy but right now I can't. But if there is somobody who can then just do it, I could help with everything you need.

maybe...but, also, i think what brings alot of rmxp users is resources (graphics & scripts). so if anyone can make resources/scripts, or get permission to post a whole lot of resources/scripts, than that would bring in a few people.

but seriously i would be more worryied in haveing a secure back up system like i sugested last time. because if it happens one more time soon then im afraid you will loose alot of trafic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
though i must say trafic has picked up abit
