Hey, I have a question but didn't see a catagory to put this is so bear with me. I created a battle, but the enemies won't attack my heroes. They move towards them, they counterattack, but they won't attack. I thought maybe it was because they were unarmed, but I put weapons on them and they still don't attack. Any suggestions?

The reason the enemies do not attack is because your characters are too strong, the AI will not attack if its only going to do 0 damage. You need to either raise your enemies stats or lower your characters stats.

I must say, that's a thorough bit of AI on the part of the Enterbrain team (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) . Most strategy games, even high-ranking popluar ones, (cough* FE cough*), just let the enemies go up to you and embarrass themselves (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

Yeah its very interesting, I spent a bit of time messing around with this and if the Enemy AI knows its going to do 0 damage no matter what it just moves away from you.

Which at first glance seems stupid, but then you have the possibilites of enemies using trapping strategies. I feel a strategic challenge afoot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

yea see you can use that as a twist in your game. instead of running they trap you to stop you from running away. once i made a game where only boss could hurt me but there were 10 enemies total, bascally they all traped me so that boss could come and woop my butt, so if it ends up being enemies wotnt hurt you exept bosss that could make it quike challenging.
