just to bring up an old idea... i was wondering what people thought of the idea of getting a ftp server... i no it can be expensive but i was thinking we could use google ads to pay that of.... maybe it wont be enough but it would be great if we could get one...
a lot of you may not no what ftp is so.... ftp stands for file transfer protocol.... you can use ftp clients, such as smart ftp or ace ftp, to download these.... you can also often open these in your browser but the download speed may be pretty crap.... i was searching and i found a good example... il post it: ftp://mrtwig:rocks@209.208.42.130:15543 as you can see you should be able to open this in your browser... this is from mrtwig.net (a great south park episode site) anyway i reach ok download speed on this but i think my connection is pretty bad at the moment... EC, Sik and Tidus plz give this some though as i think it would greatly improve this site's appeal - Ndrd |

I have seen something a while back that would make everything you upload only work on a specific site and it was an ftp type of thing. I think it was for Albino Black Sheep's forums when they had it. Honestly I have no problem with it, but that's up to the person who pays for the site. I just program.

I merged the topics together, a poll isint really needed.
Im kinda confused, are you suggesting a public FTP where people can upload anythign? Kinda like rapidshare or something? |

yeah a public ftp with the password changed every month and pmed to active members would be good... people could upload all sorts of things... games, music, videos... anyway its just a suggestion

Its defitnly possible and I can do it with ease by just setting up a local ftp. I'll think about this.
