QUOTE (Tidus @ Mar 26 2008, 02:44 PM)
I prefer watching an entire series in one go, but sometimes I'm impatient and just want to watch everything that I want to watch and read everything I want to read. Luckily, I'm the kind of person that can partition each thing into a different part of my mind, so when I enjoy multiple forms of entertainment I can switch between these partitions and not get stories and characters confused with each other. The only thing that gets confusing is keeping everything I download organized. (IMG:https://rpgcrisis.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Along with all the manga and anime I'm keeping up with, I'm also reading Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth novels which I recommend to everyone. They're absolutely amazing.

After a recommendation from a friend, I've started to watch One Piece. I was hesitant after seeing the English version a while ago, but I have to say, the Japanese version is much better. The only downside to watching this anime is the fact that I'm on ep 20 and still have 340 eps to go...

Most of those are fillers though, aren't they?

On a related note, the English version sucks hard.

According to this friend, the fillers aren't half bad.

I concur.

Anyway, pissed off at the fact that naruto and bleach are both having fillers atm, I have started to read the manga for naruto, and soon bleach. I have to say, I am really enjoying the naruto manga more than I was enjoying the show. It is unfiltered, and the manga has no "padding" like the episodes do. The only problem, is that I"m about 85 chapters behind. I managed to get through about 45 today, and may be onto bleach by the weekend.

I don't have to worry about fillers, because I am 100 episodes behind.

That's probably close too...

If you're 100 episodes behind on Naruto, then you are in the middle of fillers (IMG:https://rpgcrisis.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
And, if you're 100 episodes behind on Bleach, then you are also on filler XD

Uh... for some reason I thought you talking about Bleach.

I am pretty much caught up in Naruto, not worrying about those fillers too much.

But I must be really far behind in Bleach... I'm not in fillers yet. o_O

The whole bount(o) arc is filler, but it's not nearly as bad as the naruto fillers.

I'm caught up on the naruto/bleach filler and am back to watching one piece... still only on ep 25ish...

Aren't they? I was under the delusion that The Wheel of Time was my favorite fantasy series, but I'm afraid Terry Goodkind has opened my eyes. I love you Robert Jordan (may your soul rest in peace) and The Wheel of Time will forever be in my heart, but the way Terry wrote The Sword of Truth was just done in a way that kept me more involved. It seems Robert Jordan went about his storytelling a little too wordy - he could use an entire page describing something that took Terry a paragraph or two. At first I thought it was better that way, that more lengthy descriptions were better, but the way Terry does it just seems so much more...entertaining, exciting. It made things flow more quickly without leaving behind any detail. I'm kinda bummed that Richard and Kahlan's story is over, but I look forward to the next books set in The Sword of Truth universe.

I'm so behind in Bleach. Freaking World of Warcraft, man. It's like cancer. Not the kind of cancer that kills you, but the kind of cancer that keeps you from having a life outside of your computer and bringing you down to one meal a day and 5 hours of sleep (unless it's maintenance day, like today; I love maintenance day! It means I can sleep in) and making your parents continuously call you worrying about your well-being and preventing you from having a girlfriend and making you forget to shower so you end up showering only like three times a week and the kind that slowly eats away at your soul until you're nothing but a World of Warcraft machine. ...I guess in some ways this kind of cancer is worse than the kind that kills you.

Despite my WoW-obsession, I've found time to keep up with my favorite show this season: Kurenai. Everyone should check it out, it's awesome!

I never could get through that series, only got until the start of the third book before I dropped it.

I know all to well your WoW woes. I too once had no life. But then my account broke and I decided not to fix it. Best decision of my short life.

That must have been hard to do... like quitting crack.

I, for one, have never played WoW, and have thus far avoided destroying my life.

Ah, great anime... I watched it as it came out. Did you watch it subbed or dubbed?

I could never really get into Death Note, it's one of the few series I started and couldn't finish. Maybe I'll try giving it another shot.

If you can't be bothered to watch the whole thing, try to find the directors cut. It's about an hour and a half and is told from a different perspective, I'm not sure how much sens eit will make, but it ends differently to the anime and manga. IMO this ending is by far better.

I never saw the dub, nor did I even hear about it.
