KCG Scripts Index

This post is updated regularly. Please check back for updates if you plan on using one or more of these scripts.

You'll find many useful scripts here. These scripts written by the KCG team. KCG's scripts are noted for their professionally clean coding, innovative features, update frequency, and ease of use. Though the English release of RPG Maker VX is still relatively new, many of these scripts are highly advanced and they all work together with complimentary precision.

The scripts you'll find here are translated or in the process of being translated by Mr.Anonymous(me) and Touchfuzzy. Also it is of importance to note that Touchfuzzy is actually building onto some of these scripts by adding extended functionality that is not present in the original Japanese releases. This should be treated as a constant work-in-progress project, as each day new scripts and areas of scripts will be translated. Chances are if you come across a script in the demo that hasn't been translated
yet, it will be transcribed into English within a week.

It's also notable that these scripts are fully compatible with each other. However, there is an order in which they align due to overwritten methods. Please consult the demo's script layout or the script index below if you're using two or more of these scripts in a project, and are experiencing a lack of functionality-related issues or errors.

Current Update Details

-3/16- Update
Translated: KCG_DayNight, KGC_HelpExtension, and KCG_DrawFormatText.
Added: KGC_ExtraDropItem, KGC_VariableExpGold, KGC_MathReinforce, KGC_InterfaceForWin32API (Disabled), and KGC_ScreenCapture (Disabled). Also cleaned up the formatting a bit on some scripts, changed little things here and there, and doctored up the demo a little, with minor vocabulary changes.

[-3/14- Update]
Added KGC_AdjustBattleWait, which lets you slow down or speed up the message wait speed during battles. Added KGC_UsableEquipment, which allows you to set up equipment that has usable effects like items. Added KGC_MPCostAlter, which allows you to change the way MP (or HP) is consumed when using designated skills. Finally, I also added KGC_SetAttackElement, which hasn't been translated yet or even set up for examples, but it lets you override all other properties of weapons for a character's base attack element. The demo has been updated accordingly to demonstrate these new options. Open up the two chests and play around with your inventory to take advantage of this new stuff, also, go talk to the guy at the rightmost side of the screen to fight the skeletons. And don't forget to check out the database to look at the tags.

[-3/13- Update[/u]]
Added KCG_Steal, which lets you make steal skills. Updated KCG_Overdrive to the newest edition, containing bugfixes. Fixed a script error in KCG_LargeParty.

[-3/12- Update]
Added KCG_DayNight, which is obviously a day/night script. Translated and patched up the scripts a bit. Categorized the items, weapons, armor, and skills. A few other minor changes, like copying over the event samples from KCG_OldEventCommands, and a few others here and there.


Personal Notes:
I intend to knock out SkillCPSystem and EquipSkills next, followed by LargeParty, ExtendedEquipScene, and EquipExtension. I also plan on writing a master manual for this when this is complete, containing every tag for quick reference. I'll also, as mentioned before, post each individual script and its details for reference.
Also, elsewhere I'm known as Mr. Anonymous, to clear up any confusion.

That all seems really helpful/awesome. An update in the near future would be greatly appreciated, even if its just a repost of the demo. If you need a reliable file hosting site, http://www.box.net/ comes to mind.
