Age old topic discussed on almost every forum know to man.
Which do you think is better? Dubbed Anime or Subbed Anime? For me it depends on the series, I've seen some anime series that the dubbing was great and the voices actually fit with the characters, i've seen some horrible ones (Naruto anyone?) where the voices sound like shit. I just finished Samurai 7 (Good anime btw) and I loved it, I wanted to see what the dub version sounded like so I watched some clips from the first episode and the voices sound like shit. I prefer subbed, weather it be fan-subbed or straight from the company. |

I really hate English dubs. There are a few good English voice actors (Crispin Freeman, Michelle Ruff, etc) but the majority of them are horrible. For me I prefer either subbed or raw.

Well I just heard that the cast from Kingdom Hearts II is also going to be doing the dub for thier corresponding characters in FF:AC.
A few other good dubs I think are Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Goldenboy, Berserk, Samurai Champloo. Theres more but those are pretty good, of course i've seen the subbed version and I like those better. |

Subs = Love. Fiew dubs can ever reach the standars of the originals. Especially with anime. I have to say that Golden Boy is funnier in english, though, because he (Kentaro) sound so bloody retarded. ^^ And I like to watch old silly 80's animes, like Starzinger, in Swedish actually.. because it's so silly that it's fun (Swedish is a very good language to sound stupid in). But if I want to see something serious, I'd definetely go for a sub.

Subtitles for me are alot better. First up i did not agree but then you get used to it quite fast and its fine. Naruto in english just does not work.

I love subtitles only if I don't understand what I am seeing. Betwwen dubs and subtitles I prefer subtitiles, only because I like to see the original language used in a movie, anime, etc; because most of the feeling is lost in translation. That is why I see American movies in english sometimes with subtitles (your language is still a little confusinfg to me lol, but I understand most part yay) and not in Spanish. In japanese anime is still the same thing. Naruto for example, even though I think the actor behind the english voice of Naruto does a good job, still, it doesn't characterize the voice of Japanese Naruto very well.

I prefer dubs...Honestly, voice acting doesn't bother me like the average anime viewer. That mainly has to do with the fact that I get distracted easily and I can follow the story easier if I can hear it in english than having to sit there and read it...not to mention looking down at the text make me miss some things sometimes.

sub definatlyfor 2 reasons...
1. english vioce actors are pretty sht... 2. when i get into an anime i almost have to remind myself that it is subbed buecause i sometimes forget, since im thinkning it in my head in english (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (strange huh) |

Fine whatever.
BACK ON TOPIC I hate when a sub group uses a really light font that almost blends in with the anime. I was watching Chobits and the font is a light white which blends with like everything, kinda pisses me off. |

I havent seen the original though, so i dont know if its better/worse. Chobits was a good dub because it had both Crispin Freeman AND Michelle Ruff. Not only that, but they both voiced the main characters (Hideki and Chii). I love their voices. |

Definately sub. The problem with dub is that they sometimes change a lot by making the dub match the mouth movements.
