When RPG Maker XP was announced the maker community went crazy, unlike RPG Maker 2003 which was essentially a upgraded version of RPG maker 2000 RPG Maker XP was a completely new engine. It introduced many features that were impossible to do in the older installments. With RPG Maker XP Enterbrain added in the three layer system allowing you to create a map on three different layers, this feature was welcomed and many were excited to try it out. But the biggest feature announced was the addition of a scripting language known as Ruby known as RGSS in RPG Maker XP. With this scripting system the possibilities were endless, you were no longer bound to using only switches and variables.
