Patch Created By: theory
Information:
I made a patch for the RMXP editor. (RPGXP.exe, in the Program Files/Enterbrain/RPGXP directory.) This patch allows use of all 4 lines of text.
I'm not sure why this feature got lost in translation, but IMO the textboxes look a bit weird with only three lines of text in them, when they were designed for four.
This patch does NOT break the encryption/compression on the original file, nor does the posted file contain any Enterbrain code, compiled or otherwise. It simply contains a piece of my code, in a patch form which can be applied to your own editor if you so desire.
I am not a lawyer, and will not attempt to decypher how this fits with your EULA with Enterbrain. You use this patch at your own risk. That said, I do believe Enterbrain intended for us to use four lines of text. The default scripts are evidence to support this.
I will repeat myself for the sake of clarity: this does not damage/remove any part of the copy protection/compression of the original file, nor does it contain in any part the original file, and I am not responsible for your usage of this file, as related to damages or legal liability.
Only use ONE of the TWO patches.
Oh, and common sense, but back up the original first, just in case. Lunar IPS won't do that for you
Patch 1 Notes:
I know the buttons are slightly uneven. And the box looks as though it could fit 5 lines. Still, it works as it should, and [IMO] solves a common problem with my favorite RM* of all time.
Patch 2 Notes:
This one doubles the width of the text box (and straightens out those buttons!) soas to allow you to enter much more text with a smaller font, or use long and complex codes with CMS's. The original end of line length is marked for you. I would add a face length marker as well- do the majority use 96x96 px faces?.
Instructions:
1. Run LunarIPS.exe
2. Click Apply IPS patch.
3. Select the patch you want to use from the Patches folder.
4. Next, select RPGXP.exe. Default install location is C:\Program Files\Enterbrain\RPGXP
5. The program may not look likes its doing anything but give it a second, it will tell you if the patch was successful or if it failed.
6. RMXP is now patched and you have 4 lines of text, instead of 3.
